The project, for which we won the public bid, was for the construction of 82 homes on a superbly located plot in the town but in an area sparsely populated with villas. The challenge once again was to revitalise and increase the density of the area, working with the local council, and create social housing in the residential district, strengthening diversity.

The project we proposed has two sections, one with social housing designed by Logirem and the other with affordable housing designed by Cogedim.
This is the affordable housing development. The huge garden of the former summer camp had wonderful planted areas that we wanted to protect as much as possible, despite the high density imposed by the development. We kept the planted pathway along the access route, the trees on the lower road and a wonderful oak at the centre of the development. We used it to create a very elegant shared space around the communal swimming pool.

The development has low buildings that are vertically tiered to minimise their effect on the neighbouring villas. 3 apartment buildings are naturally located on the gentle slope of the plot, with 4 villas at the bottom.

The different sections of the development are clearly separated by their location on the plot and their architectural nature. They are however designed consistently and make up a balanced and high-quality ensemble.

THE DETAIL

At various points of the development, technical solutions were used to preserve the planted gardens. Here, a majestic oak tree now offers its shade to the communal areas.
